The 2013 Hall of Fame Tennis Championships will be taking place in Newport for a week in July. Players taking part will be competing for the Van Alen Cup and it is part of the Association of Tennis Players (ATP) world tour.
The Garden City Center Art Festival will be taking place over two days in Cranston this June. A portion of all proceeds will go to Art is Smart.
The annual Get Smart! fundraising event will take place this May in Providence.
Gallery Night Providence is beginning its new season in a few weeks and is a monthly event in which over 25 art galleries open their doors to the public.
The New England Saltwater Fishing Show will take place in early March and is the largest show of its type in the north eastern United States. For anybody who wants to learn the latest in fishing techniques, this is the show to attend.
Thoughts are now turning towards Mardi Gras, which kicks off the 40-day lent season leading up to Easter celebrations. Communities throughout the United States, including Providence, hold annual celebrations to mark the event, showing that it is not simply confined to New Orleans.
Another year is almost at an end again. The holiday season has begun and now the count down to 2013 is on peoples minds. People are looking for ways to celebrate New Year's Eve and Providence has come up with a way to include the entire family in the celebration.

An upcoming workshop will highlight how important it is that businesspeople learn ways in which to make those public presentations successful and ensure that those they are speaking to pay attention to their message.
The Rhode Island Comic Con will take place at the Rhode Island Convention Center at the start of November, featuring several guests from TV and movies, including Robert Picardo and John DeLancie from Star Trek, Peter Mayhew from Star Wars, Dirk Benedict and Richard Hatch from Battlestar Galactica, Gil Gerard, and the Power Rangers.
The Rhode Island School of Design Museum of Art starts presenting the exhibit America in View: Landscape Photography 1865 to Now this month. Featuring over 150 photographs, many from the museum's collection, the exhibit will feature everything from albumen prints to digital prints.
